Shine! Theatre introduced Sensory-Friendly programming to the Central Valley in 2017. These performances are specifically modified for patrons with sensory-processing disorders and special needs. Shine! Theatre is committed to a Sensory-Friendly performance with each show, featuring special modifications made to the production as well as the theater itself.

 

Some of these modifications include:

• Qualified, trained staff available to assist

• Quiet spaces around the theater

• Open seating - all seats are general admission

• Social stories

• Adjusted lighting and sound levels

• Theatre house-lights stay partially illuminated

• Sensory activities are available during the performance

• Visual timers in all areas of the theater
