
We are the Central Valley's premiere training theatre and the YES! Kids represent the best of all our training. YES! Kids are recruited from a varied pool of talent to assemble the most unique blend of Student Artists possible. These students are outstanding candidates who possess a strong interest in performing or technical theater, as well as, a high academic standard. With YES!, we have created what we believe to be the most progressive, in-depth theatre arts curriculum. Shine! Artistic Director, tony sanders (Humanities Lead for Big Picture Elementary) and Jenny Myers serve as our Lead Teachers.

Eligibility:
Student Candidates must...
-
be aged 8 -17y.o.
-
have a 3.5-grade point average (or a B average)
-
have a strong performance or technical background
-
present a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or director (If you are a student at Big Picture Educational Academy or have participated in a Shine! production within the last three years, you may forgo this requirement.)
Best of all, every YES! Kid is granted with a full scholarship. There is no tuition for this program. It is a fundamental tenet of Shine! that no student demonstrating a desire to learn this craft ever be prevented from doing so because of financial concerns. This training program is fully funded through ticket sales, tax-deductible donations, and gifts-in-kind. Because of the enormity of this scholarship, we expect our members to perform at the highest level...in school, on stage and off.

For the student Artists who want more...We present the most comprehensive training program in the Central Valley. The ensemble meets once a week for training in all areas of performance. The students will perform for several community outreach organizations as well as Shine! Theatre events. This is a full scholarship program. We are looking for 12 student artists ages 10-17. Please come prepared to sing 16-32 bars of music. Please provide sheet music for the accompanist at the time of the audition.
